HYDERABAD, Oct 6: The Sindhi Language Authority has appealed to public and private bodies to print Sindhi language deeds, rolls and reports.

This was resolved at the SLA’s 14th board of governors’ meeting held here the other day. The meeting adopted several resolutions, urging departments to print attendance and dispatch registers, demographic facts and figures and property documents in Sindhi language.

It was decided that all out efforts would be taken to print most commonly used documents such as Nikah Namas, FIRs and other forms in Sindhi Language.

The authority allowed the use of English or any other language’s words in Sindhi when it becomes inevitable. However, the SLA directed that the nearest word of Sindhi language should also be written within brackets to clarify the meaning of alien word.

The board of governors approved the annual budget for the year 2003-04. The meeting also approved the reprinting of a large number of books.

The chairman of the authority, Prof Dr Mohammad Qasim Bughio presided over the meeting.
