Five of a family shot dead

QUETTA, Oct 5: Five members of a family, including three women, were gunned down in a village near Cattle Farm in the Jaffarabad district on Sunday.

According to the police, five men belonging to the Jakhrani tribe barged into the house of Lal Mohammad Jakhrani in Arslan village and opened fire with automatic weapons killing him, his wife Rashida, daughters Shahida and Sohney, and son Ghulam Jan. Another wife of Lal Mohammed, Bachal Bibi, was injured seriously.

The assailants escaped in a vehicle. Administration and police officials took the bodies and the injured woman to the Dera Allahyar Civil Hospital.

The hospital administration handed over the five bodies to the relatives after autopsy.

The cause of the killing was an enmity, the police claimed.

The police registered a case against Gul Hasan, Ghulam Nabi, Jalal, Abdul Majeed and Mukhtar Ahmed Jakhrani, who were nominated in the FIR. No arrest was reported.
