PRM flays govt’s policy

Published October 6, 2003

ISLAMABAD, Oct 5: The People’s Rights Movement (PRM) on Sunday criticised the government’s pro-US policy.

In a press release, the PRM said the ongoing visit of Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali to the United States had confirmed how Pakistan had virtually lost its sovereignty with regard to the fundamental decisions about economy, politics and society.

It said the true power broker in the current dispensation was General Musharraf and the army, otherwise, PM Jamali would have attended the UN General Assembly session.

The Movement said the prime minister had also met with the World Bank President Jim Wolfensson that was another indicator of the fact that funding from the Bank would increase in times to come.
