Robberies turn Sialkot roads unsafe

SIALKOT, Oct 5: Dacoits and robbers are on a rampage here, and they have made it unsafe for people to ride a motorcycle on roads of the district.

They took away three motorcycles, gold ornaments, cash, electronics and other valuables in 11 more strikes in the district during the last 24 hours, three of which left six people injured, according to the FIRs lodged with police at various stations.

At Dallowali in Sialkot Cantonment, a shopkeeper, Riaz Muhammad, was shot at and injured by two dacoits on offering resistance. The villagers however chased the alleged dacoits, encircled them and beat them up. All three of them were admitted to a Sialkot hospital in critical condition.

In the Model Town of Daska city, a trader Afzal Ghuman was injured seriously on offering resistance to two unknown armed dacoits.

At Pul Bajwaan in Pasrur Sadar, four unidentified armed dacoits snatched Rs7,000, a mobile phone and other valuables from motorcyclists Tariq and Zafar and also gave the victims a sound thrashing. Police have registered a case with no arrest.

In Roypur, unknown people barged in the shop of Iftikhar and Yousaf and decamped with cash and gold ornaments worth Rs100,000.

In Gunjiyanwali, three unidentified armed dacoits snatched a motorcycle (STF-1511) from Muhammad Iqbal.

On the Canal Bank, Marala Ravi Link near Sahowala, Sambrial, in Daska tehsil, two unknown armed dacoits snatched a motorcycle (STN-4410) and Rs50,000 in gold and cash from Bashir Cheema and his wife Azmat Tahira.

Near the Canal Bridge Kakay Chak in Daska tehsil, two unidentified armed robbers snatched a motorcycle (STN-5836) and medicines worth Rs90,000 from medical rep Shehbaz Ahmed of Juankey Cheema.

In Hunterpura, Civil Lines, Sialkot city, three unidentified armed dacoits snatched Rs50,000 in cash and gold from a trader Muhammad Hanif and his wife.

In Malhay Chak on the Cantonment-Oora Road, three armed motorcyclists snatched Rs50,000 from Anwar, Ejaz and Ehsanullah in separate incidents.

SIX KIDNAPPED: Six people, including three women, were kidnapped in three separate incidents here during the last 24 hours.

In Sufipura-Rangpura, a woman and her two minor children were kidnapped allegedly by Shahzad and accomplices.

In Talaab Shaikh Maula Bakhsh, Sameera and her brother, Qasim, were kidnapped by Maqsood and accomplices.

In Kalleywali, Pasrur Saddar, Bano was kidnapped by Asghar and companions.
