QUETTA: A large number of professors and lecturers of government colleges held a demonstration outside the Balochistan Assembly building here on Tuesday in protest against the government’s decision to suspend some of their colleagues.

The demonstration was organised by the Balochistan Professors and Lecturers Association (BPLA).

The Balochistan government on Monday suspended 11 professors, lecturers and librarians belonging to the BPLA for allegedly refusing to conduct practical exams and paper markings.

Holding banners and placards, the protesters raised slogans against the government. Professor Javed Baloch who was leading the protest called upon the government to reinstate the suspended teachers.
