Rizwan to lead Sindh

KARACHI, Oct 2: Rizwan Khan has been named to lead a 22-member Sindh hockey squad in NBP Junior Cup to be played at Faisalabad from Oct 5-15, Secretary, Sindh Hockey Association (SHA), Muhammad Ramzan Jamali announced on Thursday.

He said the team included 22 players and three officials.

Jamali, however made it clear that after being selected no player will be allowed to represent a departmental team in the championship.

Syed Shams Iqbal (Manager), Badar Iqbal (assistant manager) and Dr Shabbir Cheena (coach) are officials of the team, he added.

Sindh squad is due to leave for Faisalabad by Super Express on Friday.

SQUAD: Goalkeepers: Qurban Ali, Shakeel Ahmed and Zafar

FULL-BACKS: Ammar Raza, Akram Ali and Syed Hasan Mehdi

HALF BACKS: Sikander Bajwa, Syed Shahbaz Mazhar, Adeel Abbas, Taha Ghori, Junaid Iqbal and Azam Gulsher.

FORWARDS: Ashiq Ali, Saleem Junior, Asif Michael, Rizwan Khan, Akhtar Shah, Tariq Hafeez, Mohsin Zafar, S.Furqan, Taha Khan, Farhan Raza, Farooq Mehar.—APP
