KARACHI, Dec 23: A number of events have been planned in connection with the birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah which will fall on Dec 25.

The Aga Khan University will hold a lecture, titled “Quaid-i- Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s vision of Pakistan”, by Stanley Wolpert on Dec 26 at 4pm.

Stanley Wolpert is the author of several books on the subcontinent, including “Jinnah of Pakistan”.

Mr Wolpert will also give a talk in the Governor House on Dec 27 at 5pm. The talk has been jointly organized by the Oxford University Press, the Jinnah Society and the Sindh department of culture and tourism.

A declamation contest, titled “Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah Inter School Decimation Competition”, will be held on Dec 28 at the Quaid-i-Azam House (Flag Staff House) at 5pm.

The contest has also been jointly organized by the Jinnah Society, Oxford University Press and the Sindh department of culture.

Since this year has been declared “the year of the Quaid” by the government, a large number of government officials will visit the mausoleum of the Quaid-i-Azam.

Special functions have been planned at the mausoleum, including the change of the guard.

Many non-governmental organizations have chalked out programmes in connection with the birth anniversary of the Quaid-i-Azam.
