PESHAWAR, Oct 2: The city police have arrested two members of a gang and seized nine stolen motorcycles from their possession.
SP Cantt Mohammad Edris told mediamen at his office here on Wednesday that the police, after investigating motorbike lifting cases, arrested Hidayatullah, son of Asmatullah, and Jabir, son of Asim.
During the interrogation both the accused confessed to stealing motorcycles and disclosed names of their accomplices, which included a famous transporter of the city.
The police also raided houses of other members of the gang, but failed to arrest them.
Other members of the gang are Amirullah, Multany, Khaista Gul, Tariq, Ziarat, Rais, Wali Khan, Mujahid and a local transporter Tariq Yousuf.
The SP disclosed that the gang also had close contacts with gangs of motorbike lifters in Karachi and major cities of Punjab.
Mr Edris said Tariq Yousuf had purchased a house in Sethi Town where gang members used to keep stolen bikes before sending them to the Bajaur Agency and Afghanistan.
KILLED: Three persons were killed and three received injuries in separate incidents here on Wednesday, police sources said.
Bullet-ridden bodies of a middle-aged unidentified man and a woman were found in the limits of Faqirabad and Nasirbagh police stations respectively.
The police have sent their bodies to the mortuary of the Khyber Medical College.
In another incident Ghulam Mohammad was allegedly killed by his son-in-law, Omar Khan with the help of his brother Noor Khan over family dispute in Badhber locality on Wednesday.
