HYDERABAD: Sajjada Nashin (custodian) of the Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai shrine Syed Waqar Hussain Shah on Monday launched his political party by the name of All Pakistan Latifi Jamaat (APLJ). He said he would get it registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan soon, adding that it would be based on Sufism.

Benazir Income Support Programme Chairperson Marvi Memon, speaking at the programme, appreciated the formation of the Jamaat.

The announcement was made at the birth anniversary programme of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai in the courtyard of the shrine at Bhitshah. The second half of the four-hour programme was allotted for the launch of the party.

Mr Shah said the Jamaat would work for the fundamental rights of people and towards making Sindh a citadel of peace in line with the message of Shah Bhitai.

Custodians of the Bulri Shah Karim shrine Syed Asad Shah, Makhdoom Ghulam Mohiyuddin and others also spoke.
