HPS retain Sindh Open junior title

KARACHI, Sept. 28: Habib Public School (HPS), with 266 points retained the Sindh Open Junior Swimming Championship 2003, title, after winning the competition for the tenth consecutive time at the Karachi Gymkhana, on Sunday, says a press release.

Karachi Club (KC), secured second position with 112 points while Karachi Grammar School (KGS) got third position with 106 points.

In all 14 leading schools, colleges and clubs participated in this championship which was organized by Karachi Gymkhana on behalf of Sindh Amateur Swimming Association.

Three more new records were shattered on Sunday one by Faiz Khalil of Muslim Gymkhana in the 25m. freestyle under-10 age group by clocking 16.14 sec.

Another record was broken by Habibian Aniq Anwar in the 25m breast stroke (Under-10) by clocking 21.09.

Third record was broken by Rohail Tariq in the 100m. Individual medley clocking 1.32.88 sec.

Habibian, Jawad Kamani, was declared overall ‘best swimmer’ of the championship by securing 43 points (7 golds, 2 silver medals).

The other best swimmers of each group are as under:

Under-10: Rohail Tariq, Karachi Grammar School.

Under-12: Hasan Ladhu Bhai from Karachi Grammar School.

Under-15: Rameez Azam, Naval Club.

Under-18: Jawad Kamani, Habib Public School.
