Shoaib yet to report at camp

LAHORE, Sept 27: Except for fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, all trainees of national camp reported on Saturday at the National Cricket Academy ground on Saturday.

The short camp for Pakistan squad is being held in preparation for the next month’s home series against South Africa. Apart from the 16 players named in the one-day squad, six reserves were invited for the camp which started on Friday.

Three players, Yousuf Youhana, Rashid Latif and Shoaib Malik reported on Saturday after missing Friday’s training.

Shoaib Akhtar, meanwhile is expected to join the camp on Tuesday, the day the South Africans arrive here.

National coach Javed Miandad said that he had no information about Shoaib’s whereabouts.

However, a PCB spokesman later said that Shoaib requested for leave until Tuesday, which had been granted to him.
