LAHORE: Saeed Ajmal Academy Faisalabad and Cricket Centre Lahore on Thursday qualified for the semi-finals of the All-Pakistan Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at the Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.

According to information received here, fine half-centuries by Sabir Hassan (58) and Bilal (57) helped Saeed Ajmal Academy beat Faisalabad Whites by six wickets in the quarter-final. Chasing a target of 184, the winners knocked home in 19.3 overs scoring 186 for six. Only Zeeshan Babar (2-23) was the prominent wicket taker.

Earlier, Faisalabad Whites earned a fighting total of 183 for seven in 20 overs thanks to half-centuries from Yasin Mustafa (51) and Naveed Malik (50) with Khurram Shahzad bagging three wickets for 21 runs for the winning side.

Also, Cricket Centre registered a four-wicket victory against Pak Korangi Club Karachi in the other quarter-final. Batting first, Korangi Club set a target of 180 with Ashraf Ali (68) and Noor Wali (45 not out) being the key scorers as Ali Imran snared two wickets for 17.

In reply, Cricket Centre overhauled the target scoring 183 for six in 19.4 overs. Their Ali Waqas contributed 73 runs with Wasim being the pick of the bowlers taking three wickets for 30 for the losing side.
