LAHORE, Sept 26: The Punjab education department on Friday notified approval of the MA Education degree of the Institute of Education and Research of the Punjab University for the recruitment of 13,000 educators across the province on a contract basis.
PU registrar Masoodul Haq told reporters on Thursday that the degree would now be considered as equivalent to the BEd or MEd for the secondary school level posts. He said the candidates having MA Education degree were already eligible for the posts at primary and elementary level. Now, the IER degree holders could apply for the posts of secondary school level teachers as well, he added.
