LAHORE: Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez and a member of the national women’s team Javeria Wadood, will appear in a bowling test in Chennai on April 9.

Hafeez had to be tested in Brisbane, Australia on Feb 6 before the start of the World Cup but he returned to Pakistan in mysterious circumstances.

“On Pakistan Cricket Board’s request for retesting on Mohammad Hafeez’s bowling action, the ICC has set April 9, 2015 as the date, with Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai, India being the venue,” a PCB press release states.

His bowling action was declared suspect during the first Test between Pakistan and New Zealand in the UAE last year.

Later, he appeared for a bowling test in Loughborough on Nov 24 which said his elbow extension exceeded the 15 degree tolerance level set by the ICC, thus the ICC declared his bowling action illegal.

“Hafeez has since been working with PCB’s panel of experts for remodeling his bowling action to bring his elbow extension within the permissible tolerance limits,” the PCB states.

“Likewise, Javeria Wadood, member of the Pakistan women’s team, was also suspended for illegal bowling action in July 2010 after an analysis was done at the University of Western Australia.

“She has also done a decent bit of work in remodeling her bowling action with the help of experts. The ICC has set the same date and venue for retesting on her bowling action too,” the press release concluded.
