QUETTA: The Frontier Corps on Friday destroyed poppy crop in different areas of Loralai and arrested 14 suspects during an operation in Qila Saifullah.

A spokesman for the FC said that the force launched a drive in Loralai area during which it destroyed poppy crops being cultivated over 20 acres.

According to sources, poppy crops are cultivated by influential people who have built boundary walls around their lands.

The drive against poppy cultivation will continue in Qila Abdullah and other areas of northern Balochistan.

Meanwhile, FC personnel launched a search operation in Chaman and Qila Saifullah and took 14 suspects into custody. In another operation, FC personnel seized 250 kg of ha­­shish from an area of Cham­­an. However, no arrest was reported.
