KARACHI: MBBS and LLM results announced

KARACHI, Sept 25: The University of Karachi on Thursday announced the results of Second Professional, MBBS (supplementary) and LLM (previous), annual examinations-2003.

In all, 257 candidates took the MBBS examinations, out of which 184 were declared pass. The pass percentage remained 77.64.

In the case of LLM examinations, as many as 227 candidates appeared, while 145 managed to clear. The pass percentage remained 63.88.

Results of nine candidates of both MBBS and LLM examinations were withheld for want of particulars, including the enrolment, said a KU notification.

DEGREE EXAM: The varsity further announced that the date of submission of examination forms and fee of regular candidates of BA, BCom and BSc had been extended to Sept 30.

PhD DEGREES: The University of Karachi has declared 31 teachers of the varsity eligible for award of PhD degrees, in addition to 31 others for awarding of MPhil degree, while one teacher was awarded MS degree in the year 2003, adds PPI.

Those who were awarded Ph.D degrees are; Ms Fahmida Atique, Mumtaz Umar, Ms Maryam Hussain and Muhammad Alam from Department of Urdu, Ms Farhana Afshan, Kamran Zaman Rana and Ms Firdous, Ms Memona Rasheed, Ms Aniqa Naz, Shakeel Ahmed, Mohammad Asim, Mohammad Raza Shah, Ms Shahida Shujaat and Munawar Rashid from Department of Chemistry, Ms Naghma Naz and Ms Fahmida Qasim Rizvi from Department of Genetics, Ms Shamim Akhtar from Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Ghiasuddin siddiqui from Department of Pakistan Studies, Ms Asma Saeed and Muhammad Ahmed Masaik from Department of Microbiology, Ms Uzma Farhat and Riaz Ahmed from Department of Clinical Psychology, Ms Rohi Bano from Department of Political Science, Akhtar Baloch from Department of Public Administration, Ubaidullah from Department of Arabic, Salman Hammad Abdul Mehdi from Department of Islamic Studies, Muddasir Hassan Arsalan from Department of Geography, Ms Saliha Rehman from Department of Zoology, Khalil ahmed Thanvi from Department of Islamic Learning, M Raza Mehdi and Ms Syeda Tahira from Department of Environmental Studies.

Some other 31 teachers were awarded degree of MPhill in addition to MS degree to another faculty member.
