Fleeing robber stabs constable

LAHORE, Dec 22: Robbers stabbed and injured a policeman and took away cars and motorcycles in different parts of the city on Saturday.

On a tip off, a police patrol raided a house and chased three suspects in China Scheme, Gujjarpura. One of the robbers attacked constable Mohammad Afzal with a knife and injured him critically.

Other policemen overpowered the attacker, identified as Kashif. He identified his accomplices as Shahid and Haroon who managed their escape from the spot.

The injured policeman was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.

Three gunmen deprived Amjad of his car in Sattukatla. Three more cars (LOR-3700, LOD-8467 and LXZ-1247) were stolen from Liberty Market, Gulberg, Naseerabad and Faisal Town, respectively. Two motorcycles (LRA-1685 and LXO-9979) were driven away from Old Anarkli and Shadbagh.
