ISLAMABAD, Sept 23: The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the application of a doctor, seeking promotion to the post of senior surgeon.

Dr Waheed Afzal, who works at the Capital Development Authority’s hospital, appearing in person before the court submitted that a post of senior surgeon at the hospital would be vacant after six months.

He contended that he was qualified for the post but his sources told him that an outsider was being inducted. He pleaded that he was eligible for the position and be promoted on the post.

The bench, comprising Justice Qazi Mohammad Faroooq and Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, after scrutiny of the applicant’s file, dismissed the application and pointed out that the applicant was not entitled for promotion.—PPI
