Hasan Raza sparkles for champions

KARACHI, Sept 22: Hasan Raza slammed an unbeaten 81 as Zone-VII Whites clinched Touchme Trophy KCCA Inter-zonal Under-17 cricket tournament with a convincing seven-wicket success over Zone-II Whites in the final at the TMC Ground on Sunday.

Zone-II Whites made 171 for six in their 50 overs after electing to bat first. Farhan Rafiq top-scored with 37.

Zone-VII Whites, in reply, romped home for the loss of just three wickets thanks to a 100-run unbroken fourth wicket stand between Hasan Raza and skipper Faraz Patel.

Hasan hit six boundaries in his 81 and Faraz cracked 31 not out. Zone-VII Whites lost opener Burhan Moosa for a duck and Basit Arif for 13. Faisal Latif hit up a fine 36.

Sarfraz Ahmed (best batsman), Shahmir Khattak (best bowler), Aamir Kaleem (player of the tournament) were given special awards.
