ISLAMABAD, Sept 22: Punjab set up a meeting in the final of the Islamabad Cricket Association President Cup with PTV.
A six-wicket victory over CRA in the first semifinal was achieved through the efforts of Adnan Suleman who scored 46 runs and Shakeel Ahmed who picked up three wickets.
CRA were bowled out for 128, Abdul Basit hitting 32 runs and Asher Zaidi chipping in with 20. Punjab in reply knocked off the required runs losing four wickets
In the other semifinal PTV knocked out Diamond by 51 runs at the CRA Ground.
PTV put a on a decent 242 for nine while batting first, Taj Muhammad top scoring with 83. He was followed by Rashid Amin Butt who collected 59 runs. Muhammad Nadeem restricted PTV with a haul of five wickets for 36 runs.
Diamond were dismissed for 191, a total in which the main contribution came from Adil Hanif who scored 40 runs. Naseer Ahmed Junior captured three wickets for 16 while Fiaz Ahmed had as many but gave away 51 runs.
The final of the tournament is to be played on Wednesday.
