QUETTA: Two suspected militants were killed in a gunbattle with security forces in the Lehri area of Sibi district on Sunday.

Official sources said that personnel of Frontier Corps were on patrol duty in the Tareer Nullah area when militants attacked them, leaving four troops injured.

The FC men returned fire and the gunfight continued for about an hour.

FC troops deployed in nearby areas also reached there.

Two suspected militants were killed and two others injured in the fighting. They were removed to hospital.

The injured troops were taken to the Combined Military Hospital in Sibi.

Later, an FC spokesman said, six suspected militants were captured and arms and ammunition seized from their possession during an operation conducted in a vast area of Lehri.
