KARACHI, Sept 22: The Sindh High Court adjourned to Oct 7 hearing of a revision petition moved by former premier Benazir Bhutto’s spouse Asif Ali Zardari against an anti-corruption court’s permission to the prosecution to summon more witnesses in the artifacts or container case .

The special court (central), presided over by Judge Munir Ahmad Khwaja, was requested by the prosecution to allow it to produce additional witnesses to prove its case that Mr Zardari was involved in the shipment of rare antiques from the country. The request was granted and the accused moved a revision petition against the order in the high court.

As the petition came up for hearing on Monday, it was submitted on behalf of the petitioner’s counsel, Farooq H. Naek, that he had gone to Islamabad to appear before an accountability court in another case against the accused.

Accepting the adjournment plea, Justice M. Ashraf Laghari, who is seized of the petition, adjourned the hearing to Oct 7.
