The following is the district-wise breakdown:
Four candidates have filed their nomination papers before the third additional district judge, the returning officer, for the post of Taluka Nazim Hyderabad, which had fallen vacant following the election of PPP’s Pir Amjad Shah Jillani as member of the Sindh Assembly.
Those who have filed their papers included Iqbal Panwhar and Mohammad Suleman Bhurgari (PML-F), and Ghulam Ali Gopang and Khalil Ahmed Memon of the Awam Dost Panel, backed by the PPP.

The election has been scheduled for Oct 10, following vacation of the seat on election of the Naib Nazim, Haji Usman Malkani, as MPA.
Flanked by the party’s divisional coordinator, Abdul Sattar Bachani, MPA Humera Alwani, former MNA Babu Ghulam Hussain, PPP District President Dr Wahid Soomro and hundreds of party activists in a motorcade, Syed Masood Mustafa, grandson of the late Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, one of the founder members of the PPP, filed his papers before the returning officer and senior civil judge, Thatta, Mohammad Farooque Memon.

While filing his paper, PPP candidate Syed Masood Mustafa complained that the entire motorcade of the PML(Q) candidate was allowed to enter the court premises but the PPP activists were denied entry.
He further complained that the PML(Q) candidate was escorted by the DCO, Thatta, and other key officials of the district in a bid to show their official support.
He requested the returning officer to take notice of all this.
