MITHI: A shutterdown was observed in Mithi on Monday over alleged trespassing on a temple, located within the main bazaar of the town, sometime during the previous night.
Angry members of the local Hindu community held a protest outside the Krishna Temple and demanded security for their places of worship. They told the media and police that there was evidence of intruders having scaled the rear wall of the temple and broken the locks of the doors to two rooms and a hall. They said no other damage was done and nothing was stolen from the temple.
They said the intruders left some clothes and a pair of shoes before leaving the temple. The demanded an inquiry into the incident and arrest of the culprits.
Police took the articles in custody, booked two unknown suspects and started an investigation.
