HYDERABAD, Sept 21: The World Sindhi Institute, the World Sindhi Congress and the Sindhi Association of North America will hold a protest demonstration against President Gen Pervez Musharraf during his visit to New York on Sept 24.

This was stated by the leaders of the Sindhi organizations, namely Munawar Leghari of the WSI, President WSC Sagheer Shaikh, and Zahid Makhdoom, while addressing a press conference on the telephone from Washington at the Hyderabad Press Club on Sunday.

They hoped that Sindhis, Baloch, Pakhtoons and progressive Punjabis settled in the US, UK, Canada, Sweden, Singapore, North America, Finland, New Jersey and Washington DC would participate in the demonstration against the construction of the Kalabagh Dam and greater Thal canal.

They said that the rulers of Pakistan had planned anti-Sindh projects but the people of Sindh and conscious people of Pakistan living abroad would not allow the construction of these projects.

The Sindhi leaders said that President Gen Pervez Musharraf had pushed the Sindhi nation against the wall with a view to protecting the interests of a particular province.

The press conference was organized by Sindh National Council leader Hussain Bux Thebo.
