KARACHI: Unknown miscreants dumped an Iqra University student in Karachi's Akhtar Colony on Thursday night after setting him on fire.

According to police, unknown persons in a car threw the body of the abducted student of Iqra University in Akhtar Colony, set fire to him and fled.

The victim, identified as Haris Javed, was immediately shifted to Civil Hospital where his condition is now reported as out of danger.

Police said he was kidnapped four days ago, but details surrounding his abduction are not yet known.

A threatening letter was also recovered from the victim's pocket, warning of similar actions if the 'military operation' did not end.

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against unknown persons at the Baloch Colony police station in accordance with the student's statement. Police have rejected the possibility of terrorism and have termed the incident the result of a personal dispute.
