Iqra University student set on fire in Karachi's Akhtar Colony

KARACHI: Unknown miscreants dumped an Iqra University student in Karachi's Akhtar Colony on Thursday night after setting him on fire.

According to police, unknown persons in a car threw the body of the abducted student of Iqra University in Akhtar Colony, set fire to him and fled.

The victim, identified as Haris Javed, was immediately shifted to Civil Hospital where his condition is now reported as out of danger.

Police said he was kidnapped four days ago, but details surrounding his abduction are not yet known.

A threatening letter was also recovered from the victim's pocket, warning of similar actions if the 'military operation' did not end.

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against unknown persons at the Baloch Colony police station in accordance with the student's statement. Police have rejected the possibility of terrorism and have termed the incident the result of a personal dispute.

its quite probable that this is a personal dispute. This method is not really the extremist style. Kidnapped 4 days ago without any ransom etc. Its easier to get out of a crime by blaming it on militancy. Kind of like what two jokers tried to do to their school earlier.

@Indian The pakistani public unlike Indian one, do not target Minorities. Yes, extremists and criminal gangs after their belongings may do. This does look like a extortion that did not deliver dividends, hence the inhumane treatment. But they will get caught, now that the victim survived. Hope he recovers and sees them hang after ATC verdict.

Well the story going around is very interesting. Apparently the guy went to a sheesha cafe with a girl, with whom he was having an affair and then this incident happened. Now look at the guy, his version and the truth unearthed. Decide for yourself what kind of a nation we are despite having religion displayed on our sleeves.
