irfan khan is over rated. He is not versatile, you would always see him acting in a singular way be it any movie. His face is also expressionless.

If don't like irfan khan as an actor it does not mean that i am not liking him because he is an indian.

Every actor has its own style and Irrfan has a very unique style and I rate him among the greats of Indian actor which includes Naseeruddin Shah, Om puri, Amitabh ji, Anum Kher and many more... The film missing in the list of English films enacted by Irran is Namesake( Directed by Mira Nair). The best acting so far! Among the Khans , he is the best.

@Saadat Bro, for that matter, Tom hanks, Bruce wills, Brad pitt etc.. all seem to be acting the same way all over. you will be over dependent on expression when you can't manage your posture, gait, gesture, intonation, timing etc, which are part of a larger package of acting. That way, irfan is gifted.

@KRana Aamir Khan is extremely talented and so is Yousuf Khan aka Dilipkumar. The other two Shahrukh and Sakan are so so.

This guy is an awesome actor. He is an actor who gets hired for purely for his acting and not his looks. I have loved all his movies including the lunchbox, life in a metro, and the darjeeling limited. National School of Drama has produced some prolific actors and he is certainly spearheading it.

I hope all the people that comment and make it into a Ind/Pak debate are pre-teens. Grown-ups and sensible people shouldn't be allowed (nor are expected) to post such childish assumptions and comments.

Friends and mentors are the people who help us in our careers. Often our fathers cannot play that role in our lives. Mentors and nurturers are not the same as our childhoods friends. They are more important than that. Great actors help their fellow actors to believe the story is real. Then all the characters are swept along until the final ending without too many bumps along the way. There is no secret to acting success. Actors like Tom Hanks, Clint Eastwood, Meryl Streep and Angela Lansbury have long experience, but the key to their greatness is they are real people, not phonies with made up lives and insecurities. There are too many who are vein and can neither work with others or share their knowledge and success. It is like the man said, "This isn't business. This is Show Business."
