Following adventures in The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, symbologist Robert Langdon will now be joined by renowned Indian actor Irrfan Khan in Inferno, a film based on Dan Brown's novel of the same name, reported Hollywood Reporter.

Directed by Ron Howard who has worked on The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, the film will also feature French actor Omar Sy and The Theory of Everything famed Felicity Jones. Inferno’s plot follows the story of Langdon admitted in a hospital and suffering from amnesia. In his state, Langdon is trying to recover his memories to save the world from a madman spreading a global epidemic in relation to Italian poet Dante’s Inferno.

Irrfan will be essaying the role of the Provost, who leads a shadowy group that gets involved with Langdon in his mission. He has previously appeared in different Hollywood films like Life of Pi, Amazing Spiderman, Slumdog Millionaire and A Mighty Heart.

The film is slated to release on Oct 14, 2016.
