Those awaiting Yasir Jaswal’s Jalaibee were in for a pleasant surprise as the director finally released the trailer of the film on its official Facebook page.

The trailer gives us a glimpse of what is dubbed by its makers as "the biggest movie event of the year", packed with popular TV personalities in some nail-biting situations.

As promised by Jaswal in an earlier interview with Dawn, the film seems to have a little bit of everything; action sequences, the token bad guy, a dance performance and several twists of fate. Although the plot is not immediately clear in the trailer, the music and commendable cinematography is a sign that this film should not be missed.

While Danish Taimur and Ali Safina play the role of the two men trying to escape a sticky situation involving guns and goons, Adnan Jaffer is the suited thug who claims "Correction: Sirf shehar nahi, poora mulk meray baap ka hai” as he pulls the trigger.

Veteran actor Sajid Hasan also dips into a similar role but it is still too early to gauge the real story.

Zhalay Sarhadi, who has made a name for herself in the drama industry by playing strong female characters (Sawera in Uraan) will not only be seen as a schemer but might even break some limbs.

Wiqar Ali Khan plays the gun-wielding hero who (unpredictably) suffers some level of betrayal.

Yasir had said that Jalaibee will be an entertainer: "The only message will be to buy more popcorn next time you watch it. Popcorn goes well with fun movies."

He had also added that it will have a 'bit of everything':

"The story does not revolve around people but rather some events that unfold as it progresses. It’s a fun, twisted story set in an alternate world which is mostly fiction. It neither has any message nor does it address any social issue. It’s pure entertainment."

Jalaibee will be the second Pakistani film to hit screens this year, to be followed by Jawaani Phir Nahi Aani, Bin Roye and Yalghaar among others.

Many including the actor-director Hamza Ali Abbasi took to social platforms like Twitter and Facebook to talk about the new Jalaibee trailer:
