LAHORE: The Majlis-i-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) has criticised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for ignoring the Shikarpur incident in his press conference in Karachi.

At a joint press conference on Friday, MWM leaders Allama Ameen Shaheedi, Allama Iqbal Kamrani and Allama Imtiaz Kazmi regretted that Nawaz, in his media talk in Karachi, forgot to mention the Shikarpur suicide hit that claimed many lives.

They alleged that in Punjab, particularly in the southern belt, terrorists were roaming freely without any hindrance as the provincial government seemed to be helpless in arresting them.

They also alleged the MWM workers were being targeted instead of the terrorists in the province and appealed to all peace-loving parties to join the protest the MWM leadership earlier announced against the Shikarpur incident.

APML: The All Pakistan Muslim League has criticised the government decision to reject former president Musharraf’s request to travel to Saudi Arabia to condole the death of King Abdullah.

In a statement on Friday, Musharraf’s political adviser Sarfraz Anjum Kahlon said the decision was not based on legal merit but rather the politics of revenge that had served to weaken the brotherly relationship between the two countries.

He said Musharraf as a former head of the state had a right to offer his condolences to the royal family in person.
