PESHAWAR: Speakers paid rich tribute to martyred chief city police officer (CCPO) Malik Mohammad Saad Khan on his eight death anniversary observed here on Tuesday.

Addressing a gathering held in this connection at Peshawar Press Club, Provincial Minister for Finance Muzaffar Sayed advocate said that everyone felt proud of the sacrifices rendered by the police officers in the fight against terror.

“Malik Saad was very popular among masses because of his honesty and professional competency,” he said.

The gathering was also attended by DIG Mazharul Haq Kakakhel, Malik Asad Khan, ANP leader Syed Aqil Shah and Safdar Baghi. The speakers demanded of the government to award national award to all the those who had sacrificed their precious life while fighting against militants.

Meanwhile, Awami National Party spokesman Sardar Hussain Babak said that Malik Mohammad Saad and other policemen, who laid down their lives for the sake of country, would be remembered for ever.

He said that it was because of the sacrifices rendered by the police officers in the fight against terror that terrorism was on decline and moral of the nation was high.
