MUZAFFARABAD, Dec 21: AJK President Sardar Mohammad Anwar Khan on Friday asked the nation not to take lightly the threats being hurled by Indian leaders out of frustration and rather fully prepare itself to thwart their aggressive designs.

Talking to some local and foreign reporters at the Aiwan-i-Sadr here, he said that in view of India’s troop build-up along the Line of Control and the international and working boundaries and the threatening statements being issued by its leaders, the Kashmiris must get ready to meet any eventuality.

Although the president was confident that India could not dare use its ground forces for any misadventure, he warned that “Azad Kashmir would be the graveyard of Indian soldiers once they crossed the Line of Control.”

He said India’s threats might be artificial, but the extraordinary military movement along the LoC and the international as well as the working boundaries could not be overlooked. “Basically, we are peace-loving people but we must make it clear that we are fully capable to fight tooth and nail and inflict defeat upon the enemy if a war is imposed on us.”

The president remarked that following the Sept 11 incidents in the US, India had been using all possible means to defame the Kashmiri Mujahideen and their struggle for freedom. He pointed out that India had earlier staged the drama of hijacking its own airliner to defame the Mujahideen and recently it had blamed them for the attack on its parliament.

“We also condemn this act but the way India put the blame on the Kashmiris within two hours of the incident suggests that the whole episode is a well-planned conspiracy. “Prima facie, it seems to be the work of the Indian agencies to get advantage of the world community’s sensitivity regarding terrorism by falsely implicating the Kashmiri Mujahideen in it.”

Mr Khan reiterated his demand that international organizations probe into the incident to find out the facts because India could not be accepted as a judge in that case.

“If any Mujahideen group is found involved in investigations conducted by the international organizations, action against it can be considered”, he said, in reply to a question.

He called upon the international community to take note of the repression in the occupied Kashmir and make efforts to get the problem resolved through peaceful means.

“International organizations and human rights watchdogs should visit held Kashmir to see for themselves the massacre being carried out by the occupation forces in cold blood. They should also check whether the struggle being carried out by the valiant Kashmiris is indigenous or not.”
