KARACHI: Governor’s assurance

KARACHI, Sept 15: Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad has said that the Sindh government is preferentially in the field of preventive health while a coordinated anti-polio eradication programme is also being implemented.

He was talking to a WHO team, led by WHO Regional Director, Dr. Hussain Abdul Razaq Al-Gezairy, which called on him at Governor’s House here on Monday.

The WHO officials appreciated the personal and special interest in polio eradication and other health related programmes as well as monitoring of the same by the Governor’s House.

The delegation praised the progress being made by the province in the health sector.

Dr. Ishratul Ibad said an effective role at every level is being ensured in connection with the eradication of polio by considering it a national obligation and moral responsibility.

In this regard, stress is being laid on functionality of district governments, activation of students and community, besides EDOs of health.—PPI
