LAHORE: A seven-year-old boy was found hanged at a mosque on Friday after he was kidnapped the previous evening near his house in Lahore’s Green Town.

According to police, the boy was hanged from a fan on the second floor of Baitul Karam Mosque.

Police shifted the body to a morgue for autopsy.

The boy’s father told Dawn that his son was playing outside his home on Thursday evening when he went missing.

“All members of my family started looking for him, but without success,” he said.

Police have detained the prayer leader of the mosque and another suspect.

Police believe that the unidentified kidnapper sodomised the boy before murdering him.
