2 new Corps Commanders

ISLAMABAD, Sept 14: The President on Sunday appointed two new Corps Commanders, one of them from newly-promoted Lieutenant Generals.

According to an ISPR spokesman, Lt Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani is the new Corps Commander of Rawalpindi. He has replaced Lt Gen Arif Hasan.

Lt Gen Akram is the new Corps Commander of Multan. He has replaced Lt Gen Shahid Tirmizi, who has been appointed DG Joint Staff Headquarters. Lt Arif Hasan has replaced Lt Gen Akram as Military Secretary in GHQ.

Sources said that more changes are in the offing as Lt Gen Zarar Azim, Corps Commander of Lahore and Lt Gen Wasim Ghazi, Corps Commander of Karachi, and Lt Gen Ihsanul Haq, ISI chief, have also completed their terms.
