Uzair Baloch arrested in Dubai, confirms Pakistani consulate

KARACHI: The Pakistani consulate in Dubai confirmed on Monday that Uzair Baloch, a notorious leader of the Lyari gang war, has been arrested by Interpol at Dubai airport.

Baloch was traveling from Muscat to Dubai, when the arrest took place. Previously, he was sentenced to imprisonment in Pakistan but was not arrested.

Sources said that the Lyari gang war leader will be extradited to Pakistan within 30 days.

In 2012, a court warranted for the arrest of two leaders of the banned People’s Aman Committee including Uzair Baloch and an alleged member of the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Army in illicit weapons cases.

The police claimed to have detained the suspects in 2012 and alleged that the explosive stuff and illicit weapons were found in their possessions and they were involved in supplying arms and ammunition to criminals associated with the Lyari gang warfare.

Uzair Baloch had been declared a proclaimed offender in the case and the court had ruled that proceedings against the offender would be conducted in absentia under Section 19 (10) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.

Relax nothing will happen. He is one of the Gullu Butts of PPP. He will get a light sentence and will merrily carry on. All political parties in Pakistan are infested with criminals. Uzair is just the tip of the iceberg and the ugly but real face of democracy in Pakistan.

He will be extradited to Pakistan so he can be promptly released by some honourable justice. End of that story and beginning of a fresh chapter in terrorism. Pakistani courts are hands in gloves with the terrorists. There are numerous examples.

Was there any reason that this convicted criminal Uzair Baloch was not arrested while he was in Karachi. I think PPP Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah must answer this question.

If I were the investigative officer, I will ask only one question. Who is paying for your travels, hotels and lavish living out of country. Catch that culprit even he is a prominent politician. Mr. Baloch should be tried in military court for murders.

Sadly our police and investigative departments are infested by criminals. I will blame MQM, PPP,PML,PTI,JUI,ANP for the political mess in my country.
