PM summons meeting to review progress on National Action Plan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has summoned an important meeting on Tuesday to review progress on the National Action Plan (NAP) to curb terrorism.

The meeting will be attended by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (DG-ISI) General Rizwan Akhtar and other high officials.

The prime minister had spent Saturday in meetings aimed at devising a concerted strategy to ensure the effective implementation of the 20-point NAP, agreed upon by all political parties.

The NAP was drafted in the wake of the Peshawar school attack to chalk out a comprehensive strategy to combat terrorism.

A parliamentary committee had been formed in this regard which evaluated the post Peshawar tragedy scenario and discussed necessary laws and amendments in relation to terrorism.

Meeting to 'review progress' when implementation has not started yet? Form another committee that will review progress of other 16 committees. Are you guys serious?

Dear PM Nawaz Sharif, Nation is waiting for Action. God knows if the same incidents had happen anywhere else that nation would have went to war to satisfy there people anger. And here leaders are afraid to send troops across border to capture and killed terrorist (who committed genocide). We are a Nuclear state should start action like one.

@Shakeel Why wait and wait for consensus based decisions (most time consuming decision making approach), Sometime leader are presented within an opportunity in there political career to become immortal. Nawaz Sharif just wasted one. For me he was never a Leader otherwise how can he went to bed knowing 150 people lost their lives and their bloods should be on his conscious on 16th Dec. and its Day 13th is over. Ask the parent of the poor child today or even months from now, They will have sleepless nights/month and wont be at peace till revenge is taken from the culprits
