ISLAMABAD: The capital police arrested 17 outlaws and eight professional alms-seekers from different parts of the city. They recovered narcotics, weapons and looted items from the possession of criminals, police said here on Thursday.

According to details, the Kohsar police arrested a man and recovered a 30-bore pistol, while the Bhara Kahu police arrested four persons after recoveries of a Kalashnikov, a 12-bore rifle, a 30-bore pistol and hashish weighing 1.25-kg from their possession.

Likewise, the Margalla police nabbed a man for his alleged involvement in theft and recovered stolen items worth thousands of rupees while the Shalimar police also recovered valuables from two alleged thieves which led to their arrest.

Similarly, the Tarnol and Bani Gala police arrested two men who were involved in decanting gas in cylinders illegally while the Ramana police and Shahzad Town police took two persons into the custody after recovery of a 30-bore pistol each from them. The Koral police recovered a 32-bore revolver from a man and arrested him. The police also arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in thefts and recovered valuables worth thousands of rupees. — Staff Reporter
