LAHORE, Sept 13: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi will inaugurate the two-day Punjab Development Forum being held here on Sept 16 and 17 to initiate dialogue with a wide range of partners in the development process.

Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz will also speak at the inaugural session while the concluding session will be presided over by the provincial governor.

The forum is being held in view of the need to discuss and redefine the provincial government’s economic positioning and relationship with the private sector as well as international development partners and the civil society.

Asian Development Bank’s South Asia Department director general Yoshihiro Iwasaki will be the main speaker at the inaugural session.

State Bank Governor Dr Ishrat Husain, Punjab finance secretary Salman Siddique, P&D chairman Humayun Farshori, World Bank country representative John Wall, Asian Development Bank country director Marshuk Ali Shah and others will read papers during the two-day forum. —Staff Reporter
