KARACHI: An inter-collegiate sports festival will be organised in the city from Jan 6. A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of divisional sports committee which met in the commissioner office on Thursday with Karachi commissioner Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui in the chair.

The meeting decided to name the festival after innocent martyrs of the Army Public School Peshawar to pay them befitting tribute.

Different disciplines for men’s and women’s will be organised across the city during the festival.

The commissioner complimented Pakistan hockey team for winning silver medal at the Champions Trophy in India recently and reviving country’s glorious past.

A hockey tournament will also be staged in the city soon and will be dedicated to Pakistan captain Mohammad Imran.
