PESHAWAR, Sept 11: The district government is considering issuing route permits to public transporters afresh aimed at reducing burden on main roads.
Traffic Police Superintendent Abdullah Khan told reporters here on Thursday that a plan to change the routes had been made in collaboration with the district government.
He said, Ring Road would be to utilized to its maximum and added that only big and latest model buses would be allowed on those routes touching Kyber Bazaar and Saddar. He said the outdated buses coming to the city from Landi Kotal, Jamrud and Bara would be restricted to drop passengers to bus-stops near Ring Road.
He said it had been decided to increase the fine for route violators from Rs100 to Rs10,000.
