KARACHI: Pakistan national bowling team will leave for Abu Dhabi on Wednesday to participate in the World Bowling Championship, which will be held from Dec 4 to 15 at the Khalifa International Bowling Centre in Zayed Sports City.

Bowlers from 134 countries will be seen in action during this mega event.

The World Bowling Championship is held after every two years.

Pakistan will be represented by Ijaz-ur-Rehman, Hussain Chattha, Fazil Mania, Ahmer Abbas Saldera, Sultan Durrani and Umar Khalid.

DG PSB Akhter Nawaz Ganjera will accompany the team as chef de mission.

Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF) president Chaudhry Nadeem said Pakistan’s chances of performing well in the tournament were bright as they had recently won the GCC Tenpin Bowling Championship in Dubai.

“Our bowlers are fully prepared for the mega event. We hope that our players will perform well and attain respectable positions in all the categories,” he said.
