ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Monday and conveyed deep sympathy and condolences over the loss of precious lives in a suicide attack in Afghanistan on Sunday.
The prime minister condemned the deplorable and cowardly act.
While conveying Pakistan’s solidarity with the brotherly Afghan people, Mr Sharif expressed the confidence that through joint efforts Pakistan and Afghanistan would succeed in rooting out terrorism.
Over 50 people were killed and nearly 60 others injured when a suicide blast ripped through crowds at a volleyball game in the eastern Afghan province of Paktika, the deadliest attack in the country since 2001.
