LAHORE: Two minor children suffered injuries when security guard of a local factory opened fire in Shahdara Town on Saturday.

Identified as 12-year-old Waleed and nine-year-old Suleman, the children were playing in the street when the incident took place.

Quoting security guard Ehsanullah, the police said the children were causing nuisance and he had fired shots in the air to disperse them.

However, witnesses said the guard directly fired on the children who were rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment.

The condition of both injured children was said to be stable. The police arrested the suspect and lodged a case against him.
