Taxila to have Rescue 1122 office, labour colony

TAXILA: Federal Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan will inaugurate the construction of a multi-storey labour colony and Rescue-1122 centre on November 22.

The Federal Minister will also address his party workers and public at Kohistan Secretariat.

According to sources, Punjab Workers Welfare Board would execute the labour colony which would have 4,000 flats.

The official sources further said that the proposed site for the colony was located in Chokkar village near the Margalla Hills, and was adjacent to Sector E-17.

As many as 273 acres have been acquired for the project, which will have a mini-dam to meet the colony’s water demand. The labour colony will be built at an estimated cost of Rs3 billion.

Sources said that for the establishment of Rescue 1122 service at Taxila, land has been identified near Forest Department office on the G.T. Road near Taxila Police station.
