HYDERABAD, Sept 8: A private security guard of a bank in Hirabad was critically injured in the head under mysterious circumstances late Sunday night.

A retired policeman, Mohammad Aachar Tunio, was on guard duty at the Hirabad branch of the United Bank Limited on Sunday night when he suffered serious head injuries. He was associated with a private security company.

His brother, ASI Malook Tunio, Phulelli police station, had gone to the branch to meet him where he found his brother injured and bleeding profusely. He immediately took him to the Civil Hospital where doctors advised that he be taken to a hospital in Karachi.

The Market police claimed that it could not be determined whether a robbery had been attempted at the bank.

Police, however, claimed that some hard substance had been recovered from the bank as the robbers had tried to break the door of the strong room and its knob had been damaged.

No case had been registered till the filing of this report.

WOMAN CRITICALLY INJURED: A married woman, Somi Sehto, suffered bullet injuries under mysterious circumstances during a function in her house in Oderolal on Sunday.

She was taken to the Hyderabad Civil Hospital where her condition was stated to be critical.

BODY FOUND: The Jamshoro police found the body of one Sekab Khan, son of Taro Khan, near the bank of the River Indus, on Sunday.

Sekab’s body was handed over to Edhi volunteers who learnt that he was a resident of Karachi. Later, they handed over his body to his family.
