SIALKOT: Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) personnel on Saturday resorted to unprovoked firing and mortar shelling along the Sialkot working boundary’s Charwa sector, sources in the Chenab Rangers said, adding that they retaliated the attack.
Early on Saturday morning, Indian troops targeted the working boundary and began shelling and firing.
However, no casualties or loss of life was reported.
A month and a half ago, 14 civilians were killed and 50 others were injured by the firing of Indian troops across the border. Pakistan retaliated with firing, along with recording strongly worded diplomatic démarches.
In December last year, Pakistan and India had pledged to uphold the 2003 LoC ceasefire accord which had been left in tatters by repeated violations that year. The truce breaches had put the nascent bilateral peace dialogue on hold.
The directors general of military operations (DGMOs) of the two countries had agreed to a number of steps to keep the ceasefire accord intact.
The meeting had taken place on the initiative of the political leadership of the two countries for ending tensions along the LoC.
The Himalayan territory of Kashmir is divided between India and Pakistan by the UN-monitored de facto border of LoC but is claimed in full by both the countries.
Ceasefire violations along the LoC and working boundary between Pakistan and India continue intermittently, with casualties reported on both sides.

Indian tactic to relieve Pak Army pressure against TTP. They will always continue to do such things but will never be able to go into a full scale war because in a short war, they will not be able to achieve their objectives as Pakistani forces are better equipped and trained to fight a limited war. Indians can only start having an impact if the war prolongs (purely due to their numerical strength), but the world will not allow the war to escalate to a nuclear threshold. This is why the only reason for these incidents is to divert Pakistani forces from their western borders back to the eastern front.

What will Indian army achieve by firing to Pakistan? To the best of my knowledge India aspiring to reach the top slot in terms of economic development and such problems in border will not cause any good to their aspiration. BJP's majority Govt. does not need to appease any body at this point of time. Third and most important is the fact that Indian army is working under the civilian govt. They have to take permission from Govt. to send even a single bullet across the border. However, none of the above points work for current Pakistan.

Your reporting is very predicable. It seems only dates and number of killed or injured is changed, rest remains same. You can not dare ask your 'security establishment' what exactly is happening.

@indian In a localized conflict, India does not have military edge over Pakistan. This means, both sides would be banging their head against the wall with no result. Sanity should prevail on both sides and people who carry thinking like you on both sides should be educated on the menace of war and its impact on innocent people.

The Indian always in denial and refuse to listen to the truth, even argue the matter, rather than accepting it. This means that the Indian is so scared of having a condition, they’ll deny it even to themselves, they are refusing to look at evidence, which we provided to them, but they don’t want to have it and continue to refuse. The reality is that Pakistan started firing. This is their usual trick to blame India even though mistake is with them. Indian army is so professional and well disciplined and would not fire unless they are facing severe attack.

@kamran no there is election happening in Jammu and Kashmir . Your side want to send as much as infiltrators in to disrupt elections spread panic so people fear to vote and create it an I do pak election issue instead of daily problems. Which we won't let happen. India will do whatever it takes to protect its borders. And please do read read recently published pentagon report to know the truth. Secondly our army are held accountable and have to report to govt and follow them. Do you even have that system? Nope no monitoring or else heads would have rolled after obl being found near....

@Erik stop believing in propaganda and open your eyes to reality. To start with both 'good' and 'bad' Taliban are very news bad for India. So we gain nothing by stopping Pak army from going against your militants. In fact, it's quite obvious to everyone here that the ideological factory is in Punjab while your army is fighting only in northern provinces. Secondly, stop believing in absurd stories which tells you Pak army is better equipped and hence stronger, fact is Indian army is overwhelmingly stronger and your generals know this rather well but feed you fairy tales of one Pak soldier being equal to 10 Indians. India is today focussed on economic growth as a nation and Pakistan will do itself and all of us a favour by giving up its obsession with Kashmir and get on to the economic bandwagon. In a peaceful atmosphere with a strong stake in economic growth we all will find it easier to solve all problems.

Guys seriously if we installed a satellite to monitor who broke the ceasefire,again your media claim that such footage are wrong.as per instance 1971 war,pakistani media was airing that pakistan was abt to win and all of a sudden shimla agreement.wish i could see pakistan as developed country with prosperity and free of religious hardliners.

Whenever India is ignored by international community, they try to cover this snub by violating LOC, then turning their own public focus towards Pakistan and the conflict. Three major international events; Chinese sign deal to invest $42bn in Pakistan energy sector. Afghan president visiting pakistan and vowing close co-operation. Gen Raheel Shareef, COAS, invited by US government and VIP treatment laid out ( Indian occupied Kashmir to be discussed and solutions to resolving it). India insignificant in all this and ignored.
