The operation was launched late on Saturday in the area adjoining Raiwind road, on a tip off about suspected militant hideouts.

The operation was carried out in the wake of a suicide blast that resulted in demise of 62 people, including women and children, following a flag lowering ceremony at the Wagah border.

Security forces had also arrested several suspects, including Afghan nationals from the same area, three days ago, on a tip off regarding the presence of more suicide bombers.

Security machinery has been increasingly active across the province since the border blast.

According to the media report, those who have failed to produce their identity documents have been arrested. However, police stated that the detained would be released once their identities have proven as well as once they have been cleared during the questioning.
