LAHORE: Five wickets each by Ghulam Mustafa and Ahmed Bashir enabled Lahore Eagles to dismiss Rawalpindi Rams for a paltry 185 in their first innings on the second day of the four-day PCB Inter-Region U-19 final at Mirpur Stadium in Azad Kashmir on Friday.

Resuming the first innings at 9-0, Rams, while replying to their rivals’ first innings total of 286, slumped to 185 all out in 56 overs

The Eagles as a result took a vital 101-run lead on the first innings.

Ahmed (5-69) and Ghulam (5-73) afflicted great damage on their batting.

Only Nauman Ali (64, 11 fours) and Mir Waiz (52, seven fours) gave some resistance from Rams.

By close of play, the Eagles had increased their overall lead to 167 by reaching 66-4 in their second innings.

LAHORE EAGLES U-19: 286 in 83 overs (Kamran Afzal 79, Gohar Hafeez 53, Ahsan Tariq 41, Nauman Qasim 29, Safeer Azam 28; Shadab Khan 2-77, Mohammad Ismail 2-45) and 66-4 in 27 overs (Nauman Qasim 22; Naqi Raza 2-0).

RAWALPINDI RAMS U-19: 185 in 56 overs (Nauman Ali 64, Mir Waiz 52, Aaqib Javed 31; Ahmed Bashir 5-69, Ghulam Mustafa 5-73).
