LAHORE, Sept 6: On the orders of the Punjab ombudsman, the education and P&D departments and Dera Ghazi Khan district account officer redressed the grievances of complainants.

Complainant Muhammad Iqbal said he worked as baildar in the office of the executive engineer, highway division, Dera Ghazi Khan, for three months but no payment was made to him on the ground that his recruitment was illegal.

Complainant Rakhshanda Riaz, a junior inspector, said she was granted BS-16 in 1994. She said she was paid arrears of difference of her salary till 1998. She also alleged that her salary had not been released since 2002.

Complainant Muhammad Salim said he was not paid the arrears of difference of his salary amounting to Rs34,927 by the P&D department for the last few years.

Taking notice of the complaints, the ombudsman called for a report from the departments concerned and ordered them to redress the grievances.
