WE, the residents of Soan, are going through unbearable torture due to apathy of the Islamabad traffic police (ITP). A portion of G.T. Road between Soan bridge and Rawat falls within the jurisdiction of Islamabad but the ITP has refused to accept the responsibility of policing this section of the road despite requests. Owing to the zero presence of the traffic police, it is free for all to flout traffic laws, thus creating a mess and causing traffic blockades for hours, especially during school timings. The shifting of a large number of schools to this area has further compounded the problem due to the unchecked parking of pick/drop vehicles on the main road.

We request the SSP (traffic) to depute traffic staff to police the said portion of the road and relieve the commuters of the agony of traffic jams.
